Vice President for Policy, Leecia Eve, joined with over 200,000 activists in the ONE NATION march.

Leecia spoke at a JOBS NOW pre-march rally, saying that we must do much more to help the more than 22 million unemployed Americans get jobs. She also believes, however, that even though we are in challenging times, we can address the many problems our country is now facing. As Leecia said: "These are indeed tough times, but I believe we will succeed because we have no choice; we must succeed. And because, as we at No Limits believe, with our ingenuity, innovative spirit, and creativity, there are no limits to what is possible in America."

Leecia said: "Like you, I love our country and I want it to be the best it can be, now, and forever. But we’ll be hard-pressed to remain the best if: our young people who want to achieve and can achieve are languishing because there are no opportunities for them; if one out of every seven of us continues to live in poverty, including one out of every five of our children; and if 22 million of us with the skills to make our economy strong and support our families remain on the sidelines because there are no jobs."

Tom Buffenbarger, President of the Machinists Union, also spoke about the urgency of putting Americans back to work.

Activists gathered from across the country. Many local unions were represented.
