Happy Women's Equality Day! - Video Blog 7
Today - August 26th - we celebrate Women's Equality Day, a day that commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave women full voting rights under the law and calls attention to our continuing efforts toward full equality both domestically and internationally. 90 years ago today the largest single-day expansion of democracy took place in America. After a struggle of over 70 years, the dreams of the many women and men who fought for equal voting rights came true. Today we remember those who made great sacrifices so that women across the nation can vote today.
In commemoration of this 90th Anniversary, No Limits has created a video celebrating the legacy of the suffragettes and their struggle to obtain equal rights. Join us as we explore the struggle. Allida Black and Liz Wing will take you to the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum in Washington, D.C., one of the premiere women's history sites in the country, which houses an extensive collection of suffrage banners and artifacts. Then, back at the headquarters, I will share a few words about this special day.
Enjoy the video - and Happy Women's Equality Day!
Video Blog 6: On the Line with Barney Frank
Our most recent members-only conference call was with my brother, Congressman Barney Frank. Members sent in questions in advance, and Barney answered as many as he could (all from the Capitol cloakroom just before he went to the House floor for a vote!). It was a tremendous success, and he touched on important issues like financial reform and economic security. He did an excellent job explaining the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform bill, which is truly a historic piece of legislation.
For our sixth “Video Blog” we have edited together a series of “highlights” from the call with Barney. While the call lasted a half hour, we hope that these few minutes will act as a preview of our conference calls for those who are not yet members, as well as a way for those who were on the call to relive some of the highlights.
If you enjoy this “highlight reel” please consider becoming a member, so that you can participate in future conference calls with the policy makers themselves!

Video Blog 5: No Limits Live from Denver (Pt. 3)
The finale of our exclusive digital "road trip" to Denver is now available on our video blog "No Limits Live." In this final segment you will be our guests at the first national "No Limits house party" at the home of George and Nancy Casey, two extraordinary friends of mine. George is the current interim president for American Humane, and he and his wife were the hosts of the house party.
After cocktails I had the opportunity to introduce Ann Lewis, who then spoke to the invitees about No Limits. She did a wonderful job explaining our organization and encouraging others to join our team! Please watch the final highlights from this incredible evening.
While our trip to Denver may be over, the connections that we made those two nights are far from over. And while this may be the final segment of our "Live From Denver" special, we plan on posting more video blogs on a regular basis, so please STAY TUNED!

Video Blog 3: No Limits Live from Denver (Pt. 1)
Just got back from a fantastic trip to Denver, Colorado! No Limits attended the Biennial of the Americas: Roundtable on Women Drivers of the Economy, where I was invited to give the keynote address at a luncheon following the program.
"The 2010 Biennial of the Americas is an international event celebrating the culture, ideas and people of the Western Hemisphere, hosted by the City of Denver. Throughout the month of July, Denver [welcomes] national and international visitors for a cross-cultural experience bridging and unifying the artistic, intellectual and political progress of the hemisphere's 35 nations."
During the round-table we heard from the Mayor of Denver, John Hickenlooper, the U.S. Secretary of Labor, Hilda Solis, and many other powerful voices, including a video welcome from Secretary Clinton.
After the wonderful programs in the morning we participated in the first national No Limits house party, sponsored by the American Human Association. The house party was a tremendous success, attracting many from all over Denver.
We invite you to join us on our adventure digitally in a three-part exclusive segment on our video blog No Limits Live. I am pleased to present the first segment to you today. In this installment you will literally fly with us across the nation on our first "No Limits Road trip." You will be accompanied by Allida Black, Chair of our Human Rights Task Force, as well as Leecia Eve, our Vice President of Policy.
