UPDATE: Afghan women help to bring about change

You may remember Ann Lewis’s article about Afghan women speaking out against a horrific proposed new law restricting women's lives in Afghanistan.

Well, according to the Associated Press, Afghan President Hamid Karzai pledged Monday, April 27th, to change the law. The president stated, "Amendments will take place," at a news conference.

I think we would be remiss if we didn’t credit the courageous women of Afghanistan who spoke up for their rights.
