Meet our new Executive Director!
By Ann Lewis on 03/20/2009 @ 10:00 AM
I am so pleased to welcome Liz Wing, our new Executive Director, to NoLimits.org and to introduce her to all of you.
Liz describes herself as "A professional and social activist working to achieve the advancement and equality of women", and that’s just what she’s been doing. She has worked at NOW, and in the 2006 Congressional campaign for Mary Jo Kilroy of Ohio.
Joining Hillary’s presidential campaign, Liz traveled to Iowa, Nevada, California, Washington, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Oregon. This fall, she worked for progressive candidates at Mission Control, a direct mail firm.
Liz tells us that she was inspired by the people she along the way :
“I met women whose families were faced with mounting medical bills. They told me that our current health care system was literally breaking their bank. I met volunteer after volunteer who found a sense of community in the campaign. From collaborating with their neighbor on a project for the first time to meeting people they would have otherwise never met, many of them formed lasting friendships. I met young girls , so excited to be part of this historic journey –and I know that they are going to keep going.”
Liz symbolized what we hope No Limits will be – a place where we can all keep going on our journey, sharing stories and ideas, working on the issues and values that brought us together.
If you met Liz along the way, in Iowa, Nevada, California, Washington, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana or Oregon, send her a note of welcome in the comments section by clicking “Read Comments” below. If you hadn’t met her until now, she’s eager to hear from you!
