Half the Sky Film Screening

CARE is holding film screenings of the powerful book Half the Sky across the country on March 4th, a one-night-only event.

We previously posted a very positive review of this book, which shines a light on an issue impacting millions of lives, but one that gets very little coverage: The Plight of Women. Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn have spent a vast amount of time with women who face, and overcome, unimaginable obstacles. The book tells their story and offers solutions. I expect the video will be no different. If there is a screening in your area, I encourage you to attend! The screening will feature musical performances, celebrity commentary and the world premiere of “Woineshet,” a short film by Academy Award® winner Marisa Tomei and Lisa Leone. With appearances from, India.Arie, Maria Bello, Diane Birch, Michael Franti, Dr. Helene Gayle, Angelique Kidjo, Nicholas Kristof, Marisa Tomei, Sarah, Duchess of York and others.
