Going Green

By Liz Wing on 04/20/2009 @ 06:30 PM

Earth Day is this Wednesday, April 22nd, but events took place across the nation this weekend. I attended the Earth Day celebration on the National Mall in D.C., hosted by Earth Day Network. Thousands of people attended the event and enjoyed speakers, musicians and vendors. Speakers included Hilda Solis, Secretary of Labor and Lisa Jackson, EPA Administrator. Booths displayed phones and shoes made from recycled materials, and tips on small things we can do to conserve energy in our every day lives. It was a great reminder that we can do all our part to make our earth just a little greener.

What kinds of events are happening in your community for Earth Day?
