Ann F. Lewis, President
Ann F. Lewis was previously Senior Advisor to the historic Hillary Clinton for President Campaign. Lewis served in the White House as Director of Communications for President Bill Clinton. She was Director of Communications for the Clinton-Gore Re-Election Campaign in 1996, and Senior Advisor to the campaign of Hillary Rodham Clinton for U.S. Senate in 2000 and 2006. Lewis has also served as Vice President for Public Policy at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America; as chair of the Women’s Vote Center of the Democratic National Committee; and as the Richman Visiting Professor at Brandeis University. Ann currently serves as a Board Member for the Center for U.S. Global Leadership Coalition.
Leecia Eve, Vice President for Policy
Leecia Eve served for four years as Senate Counsel to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and later as Senior Policy Advisor to the Hillary Clinton for President Campaign. A graduate of Smith College, Harvard Law School, and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, Eve served as a judicial clerk for New York State Court of Appeals Judge Fritz W. Alexander II. She practiced law at the firm of Covington & Burling in Washington, DC, and was elected partner at the firm of Hodgson Russ, Western New York’s largest law firm. In 1995-1996, she served as Counsel to Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., then the ranking member of the United States Senate Judiciary Committee. In 2005, Eve was a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of New York.
Liz Wing, Executive Director
Liz Wing describes herself as a professional and social activist. Wing started her career at the National Organization for Women (NOW), where she coordinated and designed millions of pieces of direct mail, raising $4 million annually. Wing worked as a Field Organizer on Hillary Clinton’s historical run for president. She finished out the 2008 election cycle at Mission Control, a Democratic mail firm which boasts many women clients running for office at the local, state and national level. Wing holds a Bachelors Degree in Gender Studies and Communications from Ohio University.
Allida Black, Chair of the Human Rights Task Force
Allida Black is Director of The Eleanor Roosevelt Project and Research Professor of History and International Affairs at The George Washington University. She is Board Member of the Roosevelt Institute, the National Coalition for History, National History Day, and the Center for New Deal Studies at Roosevelt University. Most recently, she convened The Courage to Lead, a global summit on women's rights as human rights with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Vital Voices Global Partnership and the State Department.
Mark S. Weiner, Board Chair
President of Financial Innovations, Inc., Mark S. Weiner has held key positions in Presidential campaigns and for the Democratic National Committee for more than 25 years. He served as National Finance Chair for the John Kerry for President Campaign in 2004 and has been elected as an At-Large member of the Democratic National Committee since 1992. Mr. Weiner founded Financial Innovations, Inc., one of the largest political mass-marketing firms in the US, as well as Crimzon Rose Accessories, one of the top 10 largest jewelry manufacturers in the US. Mr. Weiner is currently completing a six-year term as Board Member for the John F. Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts and has received numerous honors and awards for his charitable work.
Barbara Lee, Board Member
Principal of the Barbara Lee Family Foundation, Barbara Lee calls the arts her passion and politics her mission. The Foundation, which Lee created and leads, is recognized nationally in two program areas: women in politics and the contemporary arts. Lee is the driving force behind the groundbreaking “Governor's Guidebook” series that combines original research with a guide for women candidates seeking executive office. She has been recognized by Women's eNews as a “21 Leaders for the 21st Century.” A former school teacher and social worker, Lee has committed herself to helping women gain and use political power as elected officials, activists, and voters.
Erika Alexander, Board Member
Erika Alexander is an American actress and social activist. Alexander got her big break as Pamela "Cousin Pam" Tucker on the critically-acclaimed NBC sitcom, The Cosby Show. She later starred alongside Whoopi Goldberg in the 1990 civil rights epic, The Long Walk Home. Perhaps her most memorable role was as acid-tongued attorney, Maxine 'Max' Shaw on the FOX sitcom, Living Single, a role she played for five years. She actively campaigned for Hillary Clinton and toured college campuses with Chelsea Clinton during the 2008 Democratic primary.
